This is where software releases are planned and implemented. A release plan is traditionally used in the course of release management. Based on release plans, software developers plan the scope, content and timing of deployments in releases. Depending on the software products and the individual company strategy, the corresponding release cycles vary greatly. Release management can also be responsible for the short-term implementation and provision of bug fixes, software quality control, agreed criteria for release publication, the maintenance of change logs and the provision of release keys for the release of functions.

Important phases in the release cycle

A typical release cycle is divided into several central phases that contribute to the quality assurance and stability of the product.
